How To Get A Driving License In Ireland

2. A Public Services Card
3. Driver Theory Test Report (in the past 2 years)
4. If required, eyesight report form (taken in the last 1 month)
5. If required, medical report form (taken in the last 1 month)
6. If your address differs from the one on your PSC, then you need to provide a proof of address (dated within the last 6 months)
7. Resident in Ireland proof (if place of birth & nationality is outside EU/EEA)
8. Completed Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), if required
9. Application fee of €35.00 (Above 70 years of age are exempted of this fee)

Step 3: Find a Driving Instructor or School

Finding the right driving instructor or school is crucial in your journey towards obtaining your driving licence. A good driving instructor will help you develop your driving skills and prepare you for your driving test. To find a driving instructor, you can ask for recommendations from friends and family, or search online for driving schools in your area. Step 7: Take Your Driving Test

The driving test is a practical test of your driving skills and includes a range of manoeuvres, including driving on roads, turning at junctions, and reversing depending on what the tester asks you to do. To pass your driving test, you must demonstrate that you can drive safely and responsibly.

To pass the driving test, one should not incur the following:

• 1 or more grade 3 faults
• 4 of the same grade 2 faults for a single aspect
• 6 or more grade 2 faults under the same heading
• 9 or more grade 2 faults overall

Step 8: Get Your Full Driving Licence

Once you've passed your driving test, you'll receive your full driving licence. Congratulations! You're now a qualified driver and ready to hit the road.

Make note that you do not receive your full driving license immediately. Once you pass the test, you will receive a certificate of competency first. This certificate does not permit you to drive as a full licence holder until you actually possess a full valid driving license. So till then, you will still have to follow the rules of the learner permit.
